As I was flying back to Ohio from California the other day, I was consumed with the desire to go every single place in the whole world. I grabbed the napkin they gave me with my OJ (I always get orange juice on airplane rides; it’s this weird obsession I have) and started to write a list of places I want to see in the United States.

  • Maine–at first I thought in fall, but then I also wrote in spring, summer, or even winter. I heard something about snow-covered beaches and am now fascinated with that idea.
  • the Grand Canyon
  • the Upper Peninsula in Michigan
  • the Appalachian Trail–I know it’s really long, but I want to hike some part of it.
  • San Francisco
  • Seattle
  • Yosemite
  • New Orleans

I’m a little bit burnt out on international travel right now. Actually on the World Race I got to visit some places that had previously been on my places to visit list. Some of those included Israel, Thailand, and Istanbul, Turkey. There are still some places overseas that I’m longing to see.

  • Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  • Victoria Falls, Zambia
  • South Africa
  • the Great Wall of China
  • India–although I am a bit afraid of how overwhelming it would be.
  • Iceland–to meet Bjork and Sigur Ros and a lot of fairies.

let's go.
