I’m so happy to finally announce that we BOUGHT A HOUSE!

NewHouse!-2

This has been a long, tough process for us. We had been talking about looking for a house since last May, but decided to put a hold on it. In August, on our anniversary trip, we both felt like God was telling us to go for it and start looking for a house seriously. We dream of hosting lots of parties, prayer nights, and lifegroup meetings. We also dream of having some sort of community house, although we don’t quite know yet if that includes friends, family, or international students.

We were in escrow with another house, and then the sellers decided to take it off of the market. After feeling really discouraged about that house, we came across another one, put an offer on it the day we saw it, and 30 days later, it became ours.

We have been moved into the house for a week and a half now, and life has been kind of chaotic. It took us a full three days to find our dresser drawers, and in the meantime, Colby wore the same thing to work every day.

Things we love:

Our fireplace. My kitchen! The fruit trees (orange, lemon, grapefruit, lime) in the backyard. Having our very own WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER AND DISHWASHER.

Things we don’t love as much:

Plumbing issues (although we did love the ghostbuster-esque tools that the plumber brought). Painting and painting some more. Packing!

Of course, things are still crazy and there are no pictures on the wall, but we are slowly but surely unpacking and making this house our home. We feel super blessed, and every day I tell Colby, “I love our house!” I can’t wait to share more pictures and many stories to come while we live our lives in our new neighborhood.
