our little champion.

June 12, 2012

For the past 8 weeks little Macy Luna participated in an obedience school class. She learned how to sit, stay, heel, come, etc. etc. And what a great little pup she’s turning out to be!

Colby and I are pleased to announce that she got FIRST PLACE in the class. She won a little trophy and some treats, along with the envy of all her dog peers (and their owners). She basically rocked the individual test, but where she really excelled was during the “sit-stay” and the “down-stay.” In both of those categories, the instructor had all the dogs line up and then the owners were to tell them to sit (or lay down), and they had to stay in that position for three minutes or something. It was a long time in dog time, I think. Macy was the champ in both of those categories–she was steady like a rock.

Shout out to Colby, because I’m pretty sure a dog can only go as far as the handler is willing to take her. Together, they will rule the world, I believe it! Colby’s the best dog handler around. A+ for him, too!

Macy cracks me up though. She still has her many neuroses…you can see in 0:17 of the video that she starts to veer to the left to avoid walking by the instructor for the dog class. Haha, I’m pretty sure this lady terrified Macy. All well. We’ll take her for the whole package, the good along with the funny social awkwardness.

So cute!!! Little dogs rule the world. Can’t say my 9 lb Shichon is winning any awards any time soon – Haylie has a mind of her own and is very persnickety. :) What the little ones don’t have in size, they make up for in personality. Yay for Macy!!

i can relate, macy. once, a guy i liked was walking my way at work and i literally turned around when we made eye contact. it was so obvious, but it was just a reflex! how embarrassing!
